How it works

Three steps from link to print.

  1. 01

    Paste your YouTube link

Copy the link to a video, Short, playlist, or channel and paste it above. Want viewers to land mid-video? In YouTube, use Share and tick "Start at" to copy a link with a timestamp.

  2. 02

Keep the play button, or use your logo

The YouTube play-button logo is applied automatically, so people know a video opens before they scan. Swap in your own logo and pick colors, dot shapes, and corner shapes to match the packaging or flyer.

  3. 03

    Download for print or screen

Export SVG for packaging and print, or PNG for slides and screens. On a projected slide or TV, size the code so it can be scanned from the back of the room.

One code, many surfaces

Stick it anywhere people pause.

01

Product packaging

Print the QR on boxes, inserts, or labels. Customers scan to watch setup guides, how-to videos, or unboxing content — no searching or typing required.

02

Restaurant & café menus

Add a QR next to a dish or drink. Diners scan to watch a behind-the-scenes video, recipe walkthrough, or chef's story — turning a menu into an experience.

03

Real estate flyers

Place a QR on property listings, yard signs, or brochures. Prospective buyers scan to watch a full video tour instead of flipping through photos.

04

Workshop & conference handouts

Include a QR on printed agendas, slides, or handouts. Attendees scan to replay the session recording or access supplementary video content later.

The basics

What is a YouTube QR code?

A YouTube QR code opens a specific video, Short, playlist, or channel when someone points a phone camera at it. It connects something people hold, like a box or a flyer, to something they can watch.

When a video beats a printed page

Some things are easier to show than to write. A short clip of a product being assembled, a dish being plated, or a home being walked through does more than a paragraph of instructions, and the code puts it one scan away at the moment someone needs it.

Link to the right moment

Long videos lose people in the first seconds. A timestamped link sends viewers straight to the part the printed item is about: the step in the manual, the room in the tour, the answer to the question on the flyer.

Static vs. dynamic codes

Packaging lives for years, but videos get re-uploaded, made private, or replaced. A static code is free forever and works as long as the video stays up. A dynamic code (free account) can be pointed at a new video after printing, so the box on the shelf never leads to "Video unavailable".

Which YouTube links can I use?
Any YouTube link: a video (youtube.com/watch?v=...), a short link (youtu.be/...), a Short (youtube.com/shorts/...), a playlist (youtube.com/playlist?list=...), or a channel (youtube.com/@handle). Paste it exactly as YouTube gives it to you.
Can the QR code start the video at a specific time?
Yes. In YouTube, click Share, tick "Start at", and copy the link, which ends in ?t= followed by the number of seconds. Viewers who scan land on that exact moment, such as the step of a setup guide they need.
Can the QR code ask people to subscribe?
Add ?sub_confirmation=1 to the end of your channel link, for example youtube.com/@yourchannel?sub_confirmation=1. In a browser, YouTube shows a subscribe prompt on arrival. The YouTube app can handle it differently, so test-scan it on your own phone before printing.
Should I link a video, a playlist, or my channel?
Link a single video when the printed item has one job, like a setup guide in a product box. Link a playlist when there is a series, like recipes on a menu. Link your channel when the goal is subscribers, like a banner at your booth.
Dynamic QR

Swap the video, keep the code.

Uploaded a better version, or want last year's packaging to show this year's tutorial? A dynamic QR lets you change which video it opens from your dashboard, and shows how many people scanned and from which countries. Dynamic QR codes require a free account.
